The first step of the woodworking project is to build the storage unit, building the components out of 3/4″ plywood. Make sure you take accurate measurements and invest in high quality materials, if you want to get a professional result.

Smart Tip: Drill pocket holes at one end of the horizontal components and at both ends on the supports. Make sure the corners are right-angled and insert 1 1/4″ galvanized screws, in order to create rigid joints.

The next step of the project is to fit the shelves to the structure. Drill pocket holes at both ends of the components and secure them to the structure with 1 1/4″ screws. Check if the shelves are horizontal and make sure the corners are right-angled. Adjust the distance between the shelves to suit your needs.

Fitting the trims

Continue the project by fitting the trims to the base of the corner desk. Cut the trims at the right size and attach the to the bottom of the unit, as seen in the image. Cut the ends of the components at 45 degrees, in order to get a neat appearance. Secure the trims to the storage unit, by using 1 1/4″ finishing nails.

Last but not least, we recommend you to take care of the finishing touches. Fill the holes with wood filler and let it to dry out for several hours. Afterwards, smooth the wooden surface with fine-grit sandpaper and vacuum the residues.

Smart Tip: Apply several coats of stain or paint to the wooden components, if you want to protect them from decay and to enhance the look of the desk. If you want to get this plan as a PDF file, please take a look over the GET PDF PLANS button bellow. Thank you for the support!
